Kirsty Gautheron

I grew up on a farm in the Liverpool Plains of New South Wales. As a child I spent most of my time outside, tending to the chooks, mustering cattle on horseback, building cubby houses and generally going up the paddock to do something. I loved nature and being outside.

I have since left the farm and now live in Sydney, Australia. I have enjoyed a lifetime of connection and attraction to vast landscapes, big skies, changing light and the natural world. I am inspired by it every day.

As a painter, I’m captivated by the intensity and contrasts of colour that emanate from sweeping storm clouds over land and sea. I love the drama they create. The quiet beauty of early mornings and late evenings that house a delicious mixture of subtlety and contrast are also delightful.

I have exhibited in several group exhibitions in Sydney and completed commissions in acrylic, watercolour and mixed media.
