It’s been 27 years since I put my hands in Clay and felt the sheer joy of creating sculptures.
I’m inspired by narratives that embrace both whimsy and pathos.... the duality of life, laughter/suffering.
I endeavour to encapsulate heartfelt stories in often comic forms. The storytelling is fundamentally important to me and it’s hoped that the viewer can also glimpse part of the narrative.
I often use animals to symbolically represent characters in the stories. Horses, hares, birds, foxes, dogs, goats and donkeys appear and represent different emotions and characteristics of the human condition.
My studio is nestled in the gorgeous town of Yackandandah. I’m in my element when I’ve got Leonard Cohen playing in the background and 2 cheeky dogs at my feet.
