I am a Melbourne based artist who paints mainly still life featuring Australian flowers and birds, and occasionally landscapes. I use mainly oil paint with brush and palette knife, on canvas and cradled board.
I was initially inspired to paint by the work of Criss Canning and Margaret Preston. I still draw ongoing inspiration from these artists as well as Matisse, Cezanne and the Scottish colourists such as J D Fergusson and Francis Cadell. Whilst initially self-taught, I have had private tuition by artists, Ron Reynolds and Nicholas Chen.
