Collection: Kirsty Gautheron
Artist Statement
Kirsty Gautheron's art reflects her strong bond with nature,
especially expansive rural and coastal landscapes. Her work explores themes of freedom,
contemplation, and the unconscious, evoking a sensory experience of place.
Immersing herself in nature, she sketches and gathers impressions that later
evolve in the studio — where memory and observation merge to form lyrical,
light-filled narratives of land and sea.
Kirsty has been a finalist in Lethbridge Landscape Prizes, the Hornsby
Art Prize, the Doyles Art Awards, and the Soho Art Prize. She studied design at
the School of Visual Arts and later at East Sydney Tech in the early 1980s. She
has continued to develop her skill through ongoing courses and workshops in
drawing and painting as well as her own art practice.
She recently moved to Paris and continues to build her skills through
courses and her own practice.
