Collection: Tracy Strange

Artist Statement

Tracy Strange mainly resides and works at Mosquito Point, near Metung, on the Gippsland Lakes. It is a unique place for an artist and is only accessible by boat. Tracy is quite literally immersed in the landscape 24 hours a day, in all conditions.

Tracy grew up in the Western District of Victoria, and the cold, misty mornings linger in her work. She is a romantic, instinctive painter who is self-taught and hard-working. She works mainly in oils on board and or canvas, working quickly, usually without sketching.
